Passport to Paris, a benefit event for Rabbit Run Community Arts Association, is Friday, July 17, 6 to 10:30 p.m., at Rabbit Run Theater in Madison.
Fabulous food, auctions, and games are all a part of this spectacular evening culminating with the opening night performance of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris. Michael Roy’s Cirque du Papier will also be on hand creating keepsakes and mesmerizing guests with his paper art.
Before the performance of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well guests will enjoy spending time in the theater’s courtyard partaking in dinner supplied by Fahrenheit Cleveland’s food truck, bidding on silent auction items and taking chances on several games.
The alfresco-style meal starts out with Salade de Roquefort with mixed greens, walnuts, grapes and blue cheese with a gorgonzola vinaigrette. The salad is followed by the guest’s choice of gourmet sandwiches including Croque Monsieur, which is Cure 81 Ham on a Bakery Loaf, Grand Cru Gruyere Cheese and Dijon as well as Le Classique, a Brie & Bacon Burger on a Brioche Bun with Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle and Aioli. Also included are Pommes Frites with Parmesan Cheese, Rosemary and Truffle.
For dessert, Crepes á la Course Lapin will be served with Sweet Ricotta, Macerated Peaches, Whipped Cream and Mint.
Jacques Brel is Alive and Well is credited with being the show that saved Playhouse Square in Cleveland, A cabaret-style musical, Jacques Brel achieved worldwide adoration and fame. Brel’s passionate style of music is all-at-once haunting, witty, dramatic and heart-rending.

Part of the evening’s festivities includes announcing the winner of the Paris Raffle. Included in the raffle is a week-long stay in a luxurious Parisian apartment and a voucher for $2,500 to be used for travel expenses or the winner may choose a $4,000 cash option.
Only 200 raffle tickets will be sold, and they may be purchased by calling RRCAA at 440-428-5913 or the Rabbit Run Theater box office at 440-428-7092. Raffle tickets are $50/ea.
