Akron Zoo will offer free admission to the military and veterans in honor of Veterans Day.


AKRON, Ohio – In recognition of Veterans Day, the Akron Zoo will be offering free admission to all military personnel and veterans November 8-11, 2014. Veterans or people currently serving in the military will have to show a military ID to receive the discount.

The zoo offers a year round discount of 50% off all military personnel and their immediate families. During this special promotion immediate families of military personnel will receive 50% off in addition to free admission for the person that has served or is currently serving.

The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Zoo hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and admission is $11 for adults, $9 for senior citizens, $8 for children (ages 2-14). Children under two are free and parking is $3. Starting November 1, winter hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and winter admission is $7 per person. Children under two are free and parking is $3.
