AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo is expanding their offerings of its popular Brew at the Zoo events this season. The first Brew at the Zoo will be held Wednesday, June 11, from 6 – 9 p.m., and the zoo will also offer one in July, September and October. Each will have a different theme and the zoo is offering a discounted Brew Pass, which includes all four events. Food trucks, The Beachcomber and The Nosh Box, will also offer food at each event for purchase.
On June 11 the zoo will be hosting a 1980’s party with the band Big 80’s. Several breweries will be featuring their summer ales. During each Brew at the Zoo, the entire zoo will be open and guests can enjoy beer tastings from several local breweries.
In June visitors will get to taste a variety of beers from Thirsty Dog Brewing Co., Ohio Brewing Company, Elevator Brewing & Draught Haus, Great Lakes Brewing Co., Black Box Brewing, The Brew Kettle, Jackie O’s Brewery, Lager Heads Brewing Co., Revolution Brewing, Stone Brewing Co. and Tramonte Distributing. Attendees will receive six free beer samples and full-sized beers will be available for $4. Additional tasting cards are available for $10.
Tickets are $17 for Akron Zoo members and $23 for non Akron Zoo members. New this year, people can buy a pass for all four Brew at the Zoos, which are $60 for Akron Zoo Members and $84 for non-Akron Zoo Members. The pass saves $8 for people attending all four events.
