Join the fun on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at the Merry-Go-Round Museum as we open our exhibit, “UPS AND DOWNS” for the new season. Elk, rabbits, horses, and a tiger or two are on display to demonstrate the diversity of the animal kingdom on carousels.
This event is open to the public, and will allow guests the opportunity to visit behind the scenes areas at the museum. Kate Adam, the museum’s artist in residence, will be in her studio answering questions and demonstrating her amazing ability to create carousel art. Carvers and restoration specialists will also be in their studio explaining how the restoration process works. If that’s not enough, the museum’s curator, Kurri Lewis, will provide tours of the archives/library to those interested in the reference side of carousel history.
The admission cost for non-members is $10.00 per person. Current members are admitted free. The cost of admission includes light hors d’oeuvres, wine, the chance to bid on silent auction items, and more.
