NORTHFIELD, OH – Dec. 18, 2013 – Hard Rock International – owner of one of the world’s most recognized, iconic brands will celebrate the official grand opening of Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park, Northeast Ohio’s unparalleled entertainment destination today at 4:00 p.m. The first of its kind, Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park, a joint venture with Northfield Park Associates LLC, is the newest Hard Rock International property and its latest gaming brand, the “Rocksino.”
Guests attending the opening ceremony will enjoy “behind the velvet rope” access to the legendary guitar smash, a simultaneous explosion of colorful confetti, and bright, dancing laser lights, as well as a sold-out performance by the award-winning Joan Jett and The Blackhearts.
The guitar smash is a tradition of the Hard Rock brand. It marks the opening of every hotel, casino and cafe worldwide. The monumental 35ft Gibson Les Paul guitar, a finishing touch at the Rocksino’s front entrance, greets visitors.
“We are thrilled to continue expanding the Hard Rock gaming brand with our newest venture, the Rocksino,” said Jim Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International. “With fine execution, high quality service, classic Hard Rock vibe and custom memorabilia, we look forward to providing an incredible entertainment experience for local guests and Hard Rock fans worldwide.”
About 3,820 guests attended a pre-opening, “Sneak Peek Party” on Monday. Cash raised from the event will benefit local charities. Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park President Jon Lucas will announce the amount of the cash contributions to the three local charities, the Cleveland Foodbank, Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank and The Kosar Foundation at today’s ceremony.
The Rocksino’s contribution to local charities signals an early commitment to help make a difference in the community by increasing the potential of community partners to deal with critical issues affecting the prosperity of the community and the company.
“We’re proud to partner with our hometown charities, as part of our grand opening activities,” says Lucas. “We have a steadfast, undying commitment to help make a difference in the community. We want our –more-
business and the community to be prosperous and thrive. Prosperous communities are great places to do business and to attract and retain talent. We will continue to invest our dollars, time, and resources to help our community partners make that happen.”
Anne Goodman, president and ceo, Cleveland Foodbank helps put the Rocksino’s contribution to her organization in perspective. “This extraordinary gesture from the Rocksino is so important for our community. It will make such a difference at a time of year when families not only need nourishment, but also hope. Literally thousands of families will sit down together for a meal as a result of this generous gift.”
One in seven people in our community struggle with hunger day-to-day says Daniel Flowers, president and ceo, Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. “With the support of the Hard Rock Rocksino, we can ensure that many hungry families can access nutritious food this holiday season, and all year long.”
