An impressive collection of talent appearing in the 1,500 seat custom built Main Kitchen Theatre are all making their Fabulous Food Show debut this year, including, Martha Stewart, Alex Guarnaschelli, Marcus Samuelsson, Hugh Acheson, Tom Colicchio and Sunny Anderson. ABC’s The Chew correspondent, Jason Roberts returns for his 8th straight appearance to emcee the festivities. General admission tickets include access to all celebrity chef demonstrations on a first come, first served basis. Reserved ticket upgrades are available to guarantee a prime floor seat up close to the action.

New! The Cleveland Culinary Awards Gala will be held on Friday, November 8th in the I-X Center Grand Ballroom. Cocktail hour begins at 6:30 p.m. in the East Lobby with passed hors d’oeuvres and food stations highlighting the region’s finest cuisine.  A four-course dinner will follow presented by celebrity chefs Alex Guarnaschelli, Hugh Acheson, Marcus Samuelsson and Jason Roberts, using local ingredients and paired with local craft beer or wine to create an unforgettable meal.

The Cleveland Culinary Awards Gala is the occasion for our region’s hospitality community to celebrate amongst peers and aficionados.  Distinctive awards will be handed out in four exclusive local achievement categories: 1) Tri-C Hospitality (NEO) Culinary Challenge Winner; 2) Culinary Ambassador; 3) Restaurant Vanguard; and 4) Beverage Trailblazer.  The student competition winner will be determined on-site. Three other honorees of distinction for this inaugural class include respectively, Joe Crea (Northeast Ohio Media Group, including The Plain Dealer and Cleveland.com),
Carl Quagliata (Giovanni’s Ristorante) and Patrick and Dan Conway (Great Lakes Brewery).

Back-of-house and front-of-house operations will be supported by hospitality students from Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), Kent State University and other local schools.  A portion of event proceeds will be designated toward scholarships for participating culinary school partners. NEW! International Beer Fest joins the Fabulous Food Show this year.  Previously held in May of 2011 and 2012, International Beer Fest quickly grew to become the ‘biggest beer fest in the Midwest.’ The opportunity to combine two stellar events in Cleveland, Ohio into a unique destination culinary arts experience of unprecedented magnitude was too good to pass up.

Prevalent features from International Beer Fest including the Real Ale Bar, Brew U Stage and Meads & Ciders Pavilion have been incorporated into the event. Upwards of 100 prominent breweries will be positioned geographically throughout designated International Pavilions. International Beer Fest, integrated into the Grand Tasting Pavilion, now sits adjacent to wildly popular features including the Spirits Lounge & Chocolate Bar. Upwards of 500 of wines, craft beers and spirits will be on display for sipping and savoring throughout all scheduled event hours. Guests must be 21 or older to participate. Grand Tasting Passports are available for purchase online or onsite.

NEW! International Beer Fest Grand Tasting Session has been added on Saturday evening, November 9. The Grand Tasting Session will be open from 7:30 – 11:00 PM exclusively to showcase the vast array of craft beers, wines and spirits already on display for sampling during regularly scheduled Fabulous Food Show event hours.
A highlight of the night will undoubtedly be the “Concert in the Kitchen”, open to all attendees, featuring national recording artist G. Love & Special Sauce! The Main Kitchen Theatre brings on excitement with some serious celebrity star power!

Martha Stewart, founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Emmy Award-winning television show host, entrepreneur and bestselling author, is America’s most trusted lifestyle expert and teacher. Millions of people rely on Martha Stewart as a source of useful “how-to” information for all aspects of everyday living – cooking, entertaining, gardening, home renovating, collecting, organizing, crafting, holidays, healthy living and pets.  Her namesake company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, which she founded in 1996, reaches approximately 66 million consumers across all media platforms each month with an expansive portfolio that includes television and video programming, award-winning magazines, bestselling books, innovative websites and apps. Martha Stewart will appear Saturday, November 9.

Alexandra “Alex” Guarnaschelli is the daughter of esteemed cookbook editor Maria Guarnaschelli. After graduating from Barnard College, Alex worked at a number of restaurants in Paris, New York and Los Angeles. In 2003, Alex became executive chef at Butter restaurant. In 2011, she opened The Darby, an old-style New York supper club with live music, a raw bar, and a menu focusing on seafood and reinterpretations of iconic “retro supper club” dishes. Alex is a judge on the shows Chopped and The Next Iron Chef and a regular contributor to The Best Thing I Ever Made. She also completed three seasons of Alex’s Day Off, a show produced by Bobby Flay, airing on the Cooking Channel. In 2012, Alex defeated nine rival chefs to win The Next Iron Chef: Redemption, joining the ranks of Kitchen Stadium Iron Chefs. In addition, Alex has written for Saveur, Wine Enthusiast, Food & Wine and Food Network Magazine. Her first cookbook debuted in spring 2013. Alex Guarnaschelli will appear Friday, November 8.

Chef Marcus Samuelsson is an internationally acclaimed chef who has thrilled the food scene with a blend of culture and artistic excellence. Marcus released his New York Times Bestseller Yes, Chef in 2012 to rave reviews and won both the IACP award for Best Literary Food Writing and the James Beard Foundation Award for Writing and Literature. He was the winner on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters Season Two and serves as a recurring judge for Chopped, one of Food Network’s highest rated series with a following of over 20 million viewers a month. Marcus was also named the winner of the second season of Chopped All-Stars.  His iconic Red Rooster Harlem celebrates the roots of American cuisine in one of New York City’s liveliest and culturally rich neighborhoods. Marcus is also a co-founder of FoodRepublic.com – a website for men who want to eat and drink well, and to live smart. Marcus Samuelsson will appear Friday, November 8 & Saturday, November 9.

Hugh Acheson is the author of the James Beard Foundation Award Winning Cookbook A NEW TURN IN THE SOUTH: Southern Flavors Reinvented for Your Kitchen and chef/partner of the Athens, Georgia, restaurants Five and Ten and The National, and the

Atlanta restaurant Empire State South. He is a James Beard award winner for Best Chef Southeast and was named a Best Chef by Food & Wine Magazine. Hugh competed in Bravo’s Top Chef Masters, Season 3 and currently stars as a judge on Top Chef.

Tom Colicchio made his New York cooking debut at prominent restaurants including The Quilted Giraffe, Gotham Bar & Grill, Rakel, and Mondrian. During his tenure as executive chef of Mondrian, Food & Wine magazine selected him as one of the top ten “Best New Chefs” in the United States and The New York Times awarded the restaurant three stars. In 1994, Colicchio and his business partner Danny Meyer opened Gramercy Tavern in Manhattan’s Gramercy Park neighborhood. Colicchio’s cooking at Gramercy Tavern won consistent recognition, garnering three stars from Ruth Reichl of The New York Times and earning him The James Beard Foundation’s 2000 “Best Chef-New York” Award. In 2001, he opened the critically acclaimed Craft. Since 2006, Tom has been applying his experience and expertise to cable television as the head judge on Bravo’s hit reality cooking series Top Chef.  The Emmy award-winning show is currently in its 11th season. In May 2010, Tom was awarded The James Beard Foundation’s coveted “Outstanding Chef Award,” the culmination of his 30 years of hard work in the restaurant industry. Tom is also the author of three cookbooks, Think Like a Chef (2000), Craft of Cooking (2003), and ‘wichcraft (2009). Tom Colicchio will appear Saturday, November 9.

While growing up traveling the world as an Army brat, Sunny Anderson’s parents always encouraged her to indulge in the local cuisine. When she joined the Air Force as a radio broadcaster and journalist, she continued her trek through the world for news stories while indulging in culinary finds along the way. Her first show, Gotta Get It, a food gadget show, was quickly followed by Cooking for Real, How’d That Get On My Plate and other Food Network show appearances. Her cooking style combines classic comfort foods along with unique flavors inspired by her many travels.  Sunny is currently working on her new Food Network show, Home Made in America with Sunny Anderson and published her first cookbook, Sunny’s Kitchen, in August 2013. Sunny Anderson will appear Sunday, November 10.

 Jason Roberts is an internationally acclaimed chef and cast member of the hit daytime talk show The Chew on ABC. A native of New Zealand, Roberts spent seven years as an executive chef in Australia and in 2005, hosted the award winning food talk show, Jason Roberts’ Taste on the PAX Television Network. Roberts is the author of two cookbooks, Elements and Graze: Lots of Little Meals Fast. Jason returns to Cleveland, Ohio for the 8th consecutive year, making appearances in every Fabulous Food Show since the event launched in 2006.  Jason Roberts will emcee the Main Kitchen Theatre all three days and conduct live cooking demonstrations Sunday, November 10.

G. Love & Special Sauce is led by the enigmatically smooth Garrett “G. Love” Dutton, one of Philadelphia’s funkiest performers of laid back, alternative hip–‐hop blues (a genre he helped define). As an insatiable musical omnivore, G. Love somehow manages to synthesize his iconic influences by shedding their layers to find that harmonic convergence where song and listener bare their souls to each other. He explains his sounds as, “a nod back and a step forward. I return to the roots of blues and folk to make my music. This is my second decade as a recording and touring musician and at heart I’ve always been a roots musician. I want to carry on the tradition not in a nostalgic way, but by keeping it fresh, real and unexpected.” G. Love & Special Sauce will perform live during the International Beer Fest Grand Tasting Session on Saturday, November 9.
