Day in and day out, Cleveland Metroparks uses hundreds of operational equipment throughout the Park District’s nearly 23,000 acres. Some push, some pull, some are big, and some are small. But, each is used to help keep the Park District running smoothly.
Join Cleveland Metroparks for the Touch-A-Truck event on Sunday, August 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Strongsville Park Operations in Mill StreTouch A Truckam Run Reservation in Strongsville.
With over 30 pieces of equipment on-site, kids can enjoy climbing on and in the trucks, and learning why each piece of equipment is used. Departments that will have equipment on display include: park operations, specialty crews, golf, natural resources, park rangers, and outdoor education.
Kids can enjoy playing in a huge “sand trap” with over two tons of sand brought in by the golf division. Children can use their hands to create and design their own pieces of equipment in the sand.
Don’t forget to bring empty aluminium cans for a Steam Roller Demonstration! Cleveland Metroparks ECO-Team will discuss recycling practices and tips on how to make changes in everyday life through recycling, too.
Bring a camera for many great opportunities.
Cleveland Metroparks Nature Shop will also be selling merchandise and refreshments.
The first 1,500 kids will receive a free construction hat, too!
Strongsville Park Operations building is located at 9485 Eastland Road in Mill Stream Run Reservation, off Valley Parkway, west of Pearl Road/Rte. 42 in Strongsville. Haywagons and shuttle buses will be available to and from the parking areas.
