Ohio State University Extension and Medina County Master Gardeners are presenting a Spring Seminar entitled “Unnatural Invasions” on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Registration begins at 8:30 am with the program beginning at 9 am – noon in the Professional Building Lower Level Meeting Room, 120 West Washington Street, Medina, OH 44256.
Topics and presenters include:
“What’s Bugging You?,” an introduction to invasive insect species that are found in Ohio.
Ashley Kulhanek, Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator in Medina County.
“Backyard Invasives,” where you will learn Ohio’s most common invasive plants.
Danae Wolfe, Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator in Summit County.
“What’s Invading Your Soil,” what’s living in the soil and the invasions soil faces with emphasis on
Sonya Porter, experienced Medina County Master Gardener.
Come to this educational seminar where you will learn the most common invasive plants and insects of Ohio and ways of controlling and preventing their spread. You will also gain helpful tips on selecting plans for the home garden and how you can help keep watch for the more menacing insects. Program also includes digging up some of the invasions that happen in our soils and learning how to help reduce the impact of these invaders.
Cost per person is $20 and includes light refreshments. Registration forms are available athttp://medina.osu.edu under the Agriculture/Natural Resources calendar. Form and payment are due by April 22.
