The Spring Fabulous Food Show Gets a Green Thumb

(Cleveland, OH) If yard work and hardscaping sounds like a fantastic way to spend the weekend, the Spring Fabulous Food Show is the place for new ideas and products helping the weekend warrior. The event takes place April 28 & 29, 2012, at the I-X Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and focuses on outdoor living and entertaining. From creating an urban garden to fabricating stamped concrete, there are plenty of demonstrations and displays to get backyard escapes ready for summer!

“The Spring Fabulous Food Show gives us an opportunity to move from the kitchen to the deck,” said Eric German, executive show director. “We’ve brought in some of the most recognized companies in outdoor lifestyle products, from Weber Grill to locally owned Petitti Gardens. The show will literally be embracing the outdoor living lifestyle with the Weber Grilling Pavilion located on the exterior of the I-X Center, the first time we’ve expanded off the main floor.”

Landscaping companies will bring the outdoors indoors on several key locations throughout the show floor. The Outdoor Living Pavilion will be the centerpiece of these efforts, with live demonstrations from landscaping and design experts. Learn how to create your dream deck, plan an outdoor kitchen, or tailor your gardens to provide edible herbs and vegetables for that next backyard blowout. Concrete professionals will show how creative you can be with this versatile material as they stamp, stain, and seal for patios and walkways

The Spring Fabulous Food Show retains an element that fans can’t do without – celebrity chefs! The top grillers in the business, from Food Show veteran Bobby Flay to first-time appearances by Emeril Lagasse, “Barbeque Bible” grilling authority Steven Raichlen, and Weber Grills’ Jamie Purviance will all take turns manning the grill and sharing their outdoor cooking tips and techniques. Tickets can be purchased online at, and include admission to one celebrity chef show in the Backyard Patio Theatre.

The show floor will have several areas incorporating outdoor features and products, including the Tasting Gardens hosted by the American Wine School. More than 300 wines, spirits and specialty beers will be available to sip, swirl, and savor. Seminars in the Cadillac Tasting Theatre will help select the perfect beverage for outdoor gatherings, and the conveniently located Wine Cellar will allow patrons to purchase their favorite finds onsite. Nearby the Taste of the Beer Fest will showcase four Cleveland food trucks and offer up to 50 different brew samplings.

The Farmer’s Market Stage will offer advice on wellness and sustainability and will host area chefs with fresh new recipe ideas. Local CSA’s and farmer’s markets such as Fresh Fork will be presenting on stage in addition to selling products onsite. Other features will emphasize growing ideas such as an herb spiral garden, a raised bed hoop house, and a hydroponics display.
