Ohio Longaberger Baskets

Longaberger Home Office Newark Ohio

The Ohio business I am going to blog about today is the Longaberger Company. With a home office shaped like one of their baskets, how can I not talk about this Ohio business that has made such an impact in Ohio and across United States by generating so many jobs.

Over 35 years ago a man named Dave Longaberger founded the Longaberger Company.  Using a craft that was handed down from his father, Dave took his dream and ran with it. Who would of thought, that such a small business with one man and 5 basket makers located in the small town of Dresden Ohio could grow and grow and grow to the point of now making baskets for approximately 45,000 Independent Consultants who sell their handcrafted baskets, pottery, home and lifestyle products directly to their customers all over the United States.

I have read Dave Longaberger’s story and it is a fascinating story.  Dave was one of twelve siblings living in a very s

mall home, who had many obstacles placed in front of him as he was growing up, yet he kept working his dream.  A true American Story. This dream is also reflected in the company’s mission statement, “ To Stimulate A Better Quality of Life.”

So, if you have not yet purchased an Ohio handcrafted maple basket, then you really need to and support this wonderful Ohio company which impacts so many families in stimulating their quality of life. They make great business thank you gifts filled with Ohio

chocolates! (I will not tell you how many I have purchased to help stimulate the economy. :-))
